Chip Brown, Director of Plant Operations

I was born in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and raised on a 142-acre farm where I learned the value of hard work, and that proper maintenance is the first step in keeping any operations running well.

I started my career with six years of experience in custom cabinetry. In 1999, I relocated to Largo, Florida to pursue a new career in facility maintenance and repair. To further my maintenance education, I enrolled in Pinellas County Trade School where they teach the fundamental concepts in all areas required to maintain the daily operations in the areas of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, applicances and masonry. I have continued my education by attending various supervisor workshops and have participated in several management workshops.

In 2006, I was assigned the duties of Director of Plant Operations for Cypress Palms and Sabal Palms at The Palms of Largo. We currently have several energy conservation projects underway which consist of motion detection, timers, and energy conservative lighting systems. We have also undertaken various water conservation programs. I enjoy serving the needs of the residents and employees at Cypress Palms.
